January 11, 2002
Well . . . It's happening again!
On Friday, January 11, 2002, Shelby took the test. Sorry for the late notice, but after the miscarriage, we wanted to wait.
Tentative Due Date: 09/12/2002
So keep checking back!!
February 18, 2002
We had the first sonogram today and everything looks good!
Heartrate: 174bpm
March 5, 2002
Shelby started feeling the baby move a couple of days ago. Today, though, Abbica sat down hard on Shelby's belly and my goodness did that upset the baby!!
March 25, 2002
First bellyshots of the pregnancy!

April 10, 2002
New heartrate: 156bpm! Baby is still healthy and growing.
May 2, 2002
Heartrate is now 150bpm! We just had the 20-Week sonogram and looks like I was right on the money! Based on the baby's size, the estimated due date is 9/18 (exactly what I had predicted).

Also, I know everyone has been getting impatient, but we finally have another bellyshot! Enjoy....

May 12, 2002 - Mother's Day
Went to Water Country USA and the baby had a BLAST swimming around (no, we didn't let him out of the belly).
Also, I felt the baby kick for the first time! Abbica had already felt it, and boy-oh-boy was she surprised! She looked at Shelby like "Hey, you weren't kidding around! There really is something in there!"
June 6, 2002
My goodness, Shelby is getting big! You can see her belly move, now. I have felt it kick a few times, as well.

June 18, 2002
I've got a few updates today. Where, oh, where to begin?
Gender?
When Shelby was pregnant with Abbica, she would hold Carmen and Abbica would start kicking her; this was not the case when Shelby held Jacob.
This time around, when Shelby holds Maya, the baby couldn't care less. Yet, when she holds Joshua (Benji's new baby), ours starts going nuts.
I think there's a pattern!
Sibling Love?
Every morning, Abbica walks into our room (around 6am) and wakes us up. Usually, this involves her staring at Shelby saying, "mom. Mom. MOM!" until she opens her eyes, at which point, she informs us, "I wanna goto Da POOOOOOL."
Anyway, whenever the new baby hears Abbica's voice, it gets all excited, wakes up, and starts flipping around.
What's more... At night, if I lean into the belly and say, "Abbica," the baby gets just as excited! We tried this theory out with other people and it doesn't matter who says it.
He sure loves his big sister!!
Heartbeat
Went to the doctor last week and the baby's heartbeat was 140!
July 11, 2002 - 31 Weeks
Shelby has been having Braxton-Hicks (False Labor) contractions for a week, now. She went to the doctor's today and everything is wonderful!
The heartbeat is 145-150 bpm.
The doctors expect Shelby to go early (like 37 weeks)! That pretty much made Shelby's day.
Shelby has only gained 10 lbs this pregnancy
August 05, 2002 - 34 Weeks
Shelby has gained another pound this month! She is still contracting on and off, but it doesn't seem to be changing anything, so the doctors aren't too worried. They are still sticking to 9/12 as the due date.
The heartbeat is 140 bpm.
Abbica is getting so excited!! She can't wait. She keeps trying to feed the baby through Shelby's belly button, and makes it tea.
The baby is moving all over now and Shelby's belly moves like an Alien! The room is almost done. Shelley did a beautiful job and I just need to get in there and put up the moulding and paint the bottom. I'll get pics up soon!
You've been waiting for it, and here it is.... The BELLYSHOT:

August 23, 2002 - 37 Weeks
Ugh! All month, the baby has been head down. Now, it is breech. Shelby goes in tomorrow and Dr. Stokes is going to try to turn it around. I'll keep you posted.
August 24, 2002 - 37 Weeks
Amazingly enough, the baby turned itself around last night and is once again, head-down. Margie was so amazed and said that if she hadn't done both sonograms herself wouldn't have believed it!!
August 29, 2002 - 38 Weeks
This crazy kid was sideways for much of the week. He apparently did a complete other flip and landed head-down in the pelvis! So Shelby has officially dropped and the baby is where it should be!!
Well, She looks a lot bigger in this outfit, so we had to take another bellyshot!

September 5, 2002 - 39 Weeks
Goodness. Looks like the kid stood back up again and is sideways!! Shelby is going in today for a Sonogram and they are going to find out exactly where the baby is. If the baby is not head-down, we are probably going to schedule a 'turning' for tomorrow. If at anytime he goes head-down, they are inducing! So, most likely this kid is coming out this weekend. Stay tuned!!
September 5, 2002 - 39 Weeks #2
Ugh!! Ok, the Birthing Inn is booked (yes, there is no room at the Inn - go ahead and make your jokes), so the 'turning' is going to happen sometime next week. The induction is scheduled for Tuesday at 6am.
September 10, 2002 - 40 Weeks
September 11, 2002 - 40 Weeks
